TAÇ HYBRID
HYBRID YARN is obtained by mixing the matrix yarn and the reinforcement fiber homogeneously in different proportions by volume. There is wide variety of material combinations:
- As Matrix material PET will be used.
- As Reinforcing fiber type (Glass, Aramid, Basalt) can be used.
- Matrix and reinforcement material ratios can be changed.
HYBRID YARN offer unique opportunities:
- Solve the high melt viscosity problem at thermoplastic matrices,
- Short melt flow paths,
- Direct forming without the pre-consolidation.
By using HYBRID YARN, thermoplastic composite material can be produced in a very short time since there will be no curing. Since the composite material will be thermoplastic, it can be recycled. Briefly, the composite material production process consists of weaving the hybrid yarn and then pressing the woven fabrics with the help of a hot press by placing the fabric layers on top of each other.
HYBRID YARNS can be used in automotive, sport goods and defense industry. For instance; fuel cap, gas pedal, door interior parts, helmet and shoe sole.
The following test standards are applied for thermoplastic composite materials obtained using hybrid yarns:
- ISO 527-4 Tensile Test
- ISO 14125 3-Point Bending Test
- ISO 6603-2 Impact Test
